Join us for a fascinating deep dive into the world of psychedelics — their history, neuroscience, and rapidly evolving role in modern healthcare. This series of webinars led by MUDr. Allen Fishman explores how these powerful compounds, once central to ancient spiritual practices, are now at the frontier of biopharmaceutical innovation and mental health research.

MUDr. Allen Fishman

I am a medical graduate from the First Faculty of Medicine at Charles University in Prague, currently pursuing a PhD degree specializing in the neuroscience of psychedelics. I’m curious about the intersection of psychedelic neuroscience, psychiatry, and their potential in therapy, as well as music, rave culture, and the effects of psychedelics on thought process and language. I’ve joined the Psychedelic Research Center at the National Institute of Mental Health (NUDZ), where I’ll be working with patients and healthy volunteers in clinical trials, and as a clinician in the psychiatry department. Outside the academic field, I provide Awareness and Harm Reduction services at a techno nightclub in Prague.

I run an English language academic journal club focused on exploring psychedelics from various aspects, called ‘uniMIND Prague’, and I’ve organized a scientific conference, ‘uniMIND Symposium 2025: Metamorphosis in Psychedelic Science’, both of which were done in collaboration with the MIND Foundation, a nonprofit based in Berlin. I’m also a member of the Czech Psychedelic Society (CZEPS), where I’m involved in teaching and event organization. This topic has fascinated me for the past several years, ever since I learned about the existence and potency of these substances. An interest that has grown into a real passion and pursuit of knowledge after I accidentally attended a conference on the subject. I also enjoy teaching, dancing, painting, drumming, skiing, climbing, and yoga.

Why attend

Psychedelics are transforming how we understand the human mind and treat mental illness, but they may also hold more potential outside these fields. Whether you’re a researcher, clinician, student, or simply curious, this webinar offers a clear, evidence-based overview of a field that bridges neuroscience, psychology, pharmacology, and social change.

Discover how science, history, and innovation converge — and why understanding psychedelics today means being part of the next major shift in mental health and maybe other fields too.

This short series will give you an introduction to the basics and give you the tools and understanding to further deepen your knowledge in this exciting emerging topic. No prior knowledge required.
